“It is a privilege and an honor to be trusted with the job of developing a smile and I take this responsibility very seriously. When I help give them the gift of a smile, that smile helps them open doors for the rest of their lives. I love everything about orthodontics and seeing the impact that a straight set of teeth has on a person; to see their confidence blossom in front of my eyes is an unsurpassable reward. After all, orthodontics isn’t just teeth; its confidence and its happiness. It’s a way of life.
I had braces as a teenager. My experience inspired me to pursue a career in orthodontics. I received my dental degree from the University of Mexico, where I graduated top of my class. I continued my specialty training and received my Master’s Degree in Orthodontics in 1985. I have practiced orthodontics across Mexico, Sydney and QLD. My arrival in Sydney brought with it further education and the completion of my ADEC and Master’s in Dental Science (Orthodontics) accreditation through the University of Sydney, where I taught undergraduate and postgraduate students and through which I present at conferences both locally and overseas.
After completing my accreditation, I joined the Orthodontic Department at Westmead Hospital in Sydney where I worked as a Senior Orthodontist treating patients with complex orthodontics and multi-disciplinary treatment needs. I was actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, and also mentoring dental officers and hygienists.
I worked in my private orthodontic practice in Sydney and I have always have a special interest in all aspects of aesthetic orthodontics, especially Invisalign treatment.
Everyone in our team is as passionate about orthodontics as I am, and it shows. We treat each new patient with courtesy and respect and welcome them into our practice as if they are family. You will see that we have a great time in the practice and that we are excited about being in the business of building smiles.
A high level of professional development is vital to me in my line of work and I am committed to consistently transferring this to my patients. My team and I attend regular national and international conferences.
I am an active member of several orthodontic and dental societies and study groups including the Australian Society of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, Australian Dental Association Queensland, World Federation of Orthodontists, and Australian Society of Lingual Orthodontists.
I am also Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the Special Field of Orthodontics.
In my spare time, I truly enjoy exploring the outdoors, reading, traveling and cooking.
I look forward to helping you create your most beautiful smile.”
